From first message to confirmed booking
Six steps, no surprises. This is exactly how a Clerisa trip comes together, including when we ask for money and how much.

Send your enquiry
Tell us what you would like to experience. Reviewing our journeys and destination guides first helps you describe the trip you have in mind.

Choose your starting point
Pick one of our ready journeys or ask for something tailor-made, and give us your preferred dates and group size.

Talk it through
We discuss the options with you and suggest variations, by message, call or email, whichever suits you.

We check availability
Once the plan is right we confirm group departures or lodge availability, hold provisional reservations, and propose alternatives where something is full.

Deposit and invoice
We send payment details and a deposit invoice: 10% for camping safaris, 30% for lodging safaris. Luxury and tailor-made journeys may require more.

Confirmed
Once the deposit is processed we send your booking confirmation.
Deposits, in plain numbers
We ask for a deposit only once you have agreed an itinerary and we have confirmed availability. Nothing is due before that.

The balance and payment methods are confirmed with your invoice. If a lodge or a group departure turns out to be full, we tell you and offer alternatives rather than quietly substituting something.
Questions people usually ask at this point
How long does planning take?
Most trips settle in a few exchanges over a week or two. Some take an afternoon, some take months. We do not rush you, and we do not chase you.
Do I have to pick one of your listed journeys?
No. They are starting points. Most trips end up adjusted in length, in pace, or in which parks they include.
Can I talk to someone rather than emailing?
Yes. WhatsApp, a phone call, or a video call, whichever suits. We are on East Africa Time, UTC+3.
What if I need to change or cancel?
Talk to us as early as you can and we will tell you honestly what is possible. Lodges and park fees have their own conditions, which we set out in writing with your quotation.
